The German American Societies of San Diego is primarily a volunteer-run organization. For us to be successful, we rely on the energy, enthusiasm and expertise of hundreds of local volunteers, who help us coordinate everything from New Year’s Eve decorations to Oktoberfest food service for tens of thousands of visitors, every year.
Opportunities are often customized to match the interests, abilities and availability of those seeking service. Proof of community service can be provided upon request (please disclose any limitations at the time of registration).
Consider supporting your community by becoming a volunteer for our Club. Your service provides great guest experiences, honors and maintains German traditions, and may earn you special Club perks! Learn more and sign up today: Leave a message at 619-442-6637 or email manager@germanclubsandiego.org.
ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES
Tuesday Work Crew: Join us Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a variety of hands-on duties that keep the Club in working order, year-round. Projects include painting, minor repairs, maintenance, construction, equipment setup – even decorating. A free lunch is always provided for this band of hard-working, and handy Club stewards. NO RSVP NECESSARY.
Weekday Friends: Sometimes small tasks are needed to support group meetups and regularly occurring activities – especially on busy Fridays. Responsibilities may include wiping down and resetting tables and chairs, washing and folding linens, placing decorations, planning and preparing meals, serving food, restroom touch-ups, and dishwashing. Leave a message at 619-442-6637 or email manager@germanclubsandiego.org.
Event Work Parties: Days before large events, it’s time to set up structures, stages, decorations and other items that set the scene for the perfect party. Extra hands are always needed to make things run smoothly and efficiently. These get-togethers occur after-hours and on weekends, and you can expect to hear about them in Club communications. Express your interest as they are shared so you don’t miss out! RSVP RECOMMENDED.
