It’s December and we’re busy decking our hall with holiday cheer! Join us for a variety of shows and events that are sure to warm your heart and liven your spirits this winter. On Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14 we are excited to bring back our traditional German Christmas Market – Weihnachtsmarkt. Bundle up to shop 30+ vendor booths stocked with homemade goods and holiday gifts, listen to live music, watch dance and vocal performances, eat traditional dishes like Currywurst and European pastries, and sip on cool seasonal brews or warm Glühwein. Did you attend our 2025 Oktoberfest celebration held Sept. 26 to 27 and Oct. 3 to 5? It was a big one! A lot of planning, care and coordination went into each day of festivities for this annual event, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of hundreds of generous volunteers who assisted with set-up, site build, booth management, cooking, decorating, cleanup and other event support. Have you ever wondered why the German American Societies of San Diego’s Oktoberfest posters look like art? They are! These original designs come to us from our friends at St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center. Each year, one of their gifted artists donates a painting, and we in turn feature it on our official Oktoberfest poster. This year’s piece was designed by Francisco Rojas and portrays several women enjoying Bier on the cobblestone street of a traditional German village.
