Posters with Purpose

Have you ever wondered why the German American Societies of San Diego’s Oktoberfest posters look like art? They are! These original designs come to us from our friends at St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center.

Each year, one of their gifted artists donates a painting, and we in turn feature it on our official Oktoberfest poster. This year’s piece was designed by Francisco Rojas and portrays several women enjoying Bier on the cobblestone street of a traditional German village.

St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center is an innovative space where adults with intellectual disabilities can learn, grow, build life skills, gain confidence, and find personal fulfillment through an array of interactive programs.

Our relationship with St. Madeleine’s spans several decades. Through monetary and in-kind donations, we are proud to support the award-winning work they do in our local community.

If you’ve never perused the Oktoberfest poster gallery, be sure to step inside the Hall during our 2025 celebration, which takes place the weekends of Sept. 26 to 28 and Oct. 3 to 5.
